FAQ

Do I need to create an account to view/access/publish volunteering opportunities?

Volunteer

Yes, it is necessary to create an account on the platform in order to access the available volunteering opportunities. When you create your account you will be able to choose an avatar that represents you, upload your CV, and most importantly you will be able to apply for different opportunities, track your progress (ongoing and completed projects) and the evaluation obtained from the host organisations.

Organisations

Yes, you need to create an account to be able to post volunteering opportunities (also referred to as "projects") and to be able to view the public accounts of volunteers, or those who have applied for open positions and to contact them.

Is there an age limit or other conditions that must be met in order to create an account?

You can register on the EUvolunteer platform after you turn 16, but you cannot start a project until you turn 18 or get written consent from a guardian/legal representative.

In relation to the actual volunteering activity, there may be other conditions which each host organisation will set out in the project description (for example, activities with children may require a criminal record and/or a psychological examination).

Can I choose in which field to volunteer?

Yes, you can choose to work in any area of interest. Once you log in to the platform and want to apply for a project, you will be able to filter the available opportunities by field of interest, location and organisation/institution.

What is the minimum time I can spend volunteering?

Each host organisation will present at the first discussion what is the minimum duration for the volunteering projects they implement. The minimum duration can be different for each project (e.g. 1 day for a green area clean-up day, 3 days for a cultural festival, 6 - 9 months for an international project - European Solidarity Corp).

Who will coordinate the volunteers, the platform initiators or the host organisations?

Volunteers will be coordinated exclusively by the host organisations.

Is volunteering considered as professional experience?

Volunteering activity is considered as professional and/or specialised experience, depending on the type of activity, if it is carried out in the field of studies completed.

As a volunteer, will I receive a certificate or other document certifying the activity carried out?

During the period of the voluntary activity and at the end of the voluntary activity, the host organisation will, at the request of the volunteer, issue a certificate of volunteering to which an activity report is attached.

Important! According to the law on volunteering, there is a set of compulsory documents that must be signed at the beginning of the activity between the host organisation and the volunteer: volunteering contract, job description chart, and the work protection sheet.
